General Questions
The total cost of the Commercial Pilot License (CPL) program at AeroSur ranges from USD 25,000 to USD 32,000 depending on the pace of training and additional ratings. This includes ground school fees, all flight training hours (minimum 200 hours), examination fees, and administrative charges. Accommodation is available separately starting from USD 400/month.
At AeroSur, you will primarily train on the Cessna 172 Skyhawk (single engine) for PPL and initial CPL training. For Instrument Rating training, we use the Cessna 172 with Garmin G1000 glass cockpit. The Piper PA-44 Seminole is used for Multi-Engine Rating training.
No, you do not need to know Spanish to train at AeroSur. Our ground school instruction, training materials, and all communications are conducted in English. However, learning basic Spanish is helpful for day-to-day life in Uruguay, and we provide basic language orientation for new students.
Yes, AeroSur provides fully furnished student accommodation near the training facility. The accommodation includes furnished rooms with Wi-Fi, a common kitchen with cooking facilities, Indian and Asian food options available, and transportation to/from the airport daily. Prices start from USD 400 per month for shared accommodation.
AeroSur provides complete visa guidance for all international students. For Indian students, you need a Student Visa (Visa de Estudiante) for Uruguay. We provide your Letter of Enrollment and full documentation support. The visa process typically takes 4-6 weeks. Our team has helped 300+ students successfully obtain their Uruguayan student visas.
After obtaining your CPL and clearing DGCA requirements, entry-level First Officers at Indian airlines earn between INR 1.5 to 2.5 lakhs per month. After gaining experience, Captains earn INR 5-15 lakhs per month. Senior Captains at major airlines like Air India or IndiGo can earn INR 20+ lakhs per month. Aviation is one of the highest-paying careers in India.

License Conversion
Yes, AeroSur – Escuela de Vuelo is fully approved for CPL training under DGCA India guidelines. Indian students can complete their CPL training in Uruguay at AeroSur and convert it to an Indian CPL through the DGCA license conversion process. We provide complete guidance and support throughout the conversion process.
After completing your CPL in Uruguay, the DGCA conversion involves: 1) Clearing DGCA written examinations (RTR, Meteorology, Navigation, Air Regulations, Aviation Meteorology, etc.), 2) Logging 200 hours total with required cross-country and night time, 3) Appearing for a Skill Test with an authorized DGCA examiner. AeroSur provides complete guidance and preparation support for this process.
CPL Program
The CPL program at AeroSur typically takes 18 to 24 months to complete, depending on weather, individual progress, and training pace. Some students complete it in as little as 16 months with dedicated effort. The program includes ground school (approx. 6 months) and flight training (approx. 12-18 months).
